My Newest Challenge: Coffee-Free for 10 Days

As you know, I’ve been working on being much more conscious with my sugar intake (after I had a scary hypoglycemic episode 10 days ago). One of the perks of constantly working on your health is that you start to notice what makes your body tick: if you feel clear-headed after a meal or if it seems to weigh down your mental clarity. (And stomach. Because, let’s be honest, “food babies” happen.)

 

Over the past week I’ve noticed that I feel “off” and a bit shaky around 9:30-11 am. This would time out about 2 hours after my breakfast, and I can’t figure out why! I eat 2 eggs, one piece of gluten-free toast with peanut butter, and a cup of spinach. Very little sugar there!

 

However….on my day off this week I decided to try my day without coffee.

I felt much more even-tempered. No “shakiness” here! (Just a coffee withdrawal headache.)

 

I returned to my coffee-drinking ways the following day and, alas, my shakiness returned.

 

Now, my shakiness could be a result of making my coffee too strong, but I’ve decided to take this as an opportunity to do something I haven’t done….ever.

 

I’m going to go coffee-free for 10 days.

I know, I hear the collective “WHAT?!” being screamed from behind your computer screens. But I want to live with intention in every facet! And for this reason, I am going to eliminate coffee and replace it with a Shakeology boost.

So Shakeology boosts were¬†just released on the market about 2 weeks ago, and I was blessed enough to grab it immediately. This Shakeology boost in particular focuses on giving you, the consumer, energy from natural sources: Guarana, green tea, and other 100% all-natural derivatives. It doesn’t have any preservatives, artificial colors, artificial sweeteners, etc. which is why I want to give it a try.

I’m not doing this as a sales pitch- I’m doing it to see if I can continue to tweak my habits to feel the best that I can!

 

Am I scared? Absolutely.

Is it worth it? I honestly don’t know. It may suck, and you may find me sipping my morning java after this is all over.

But give me 10 days and we’ll see what happens!
