Okay, health-conscious readers. This may sound like a broken record to you, but it needs to be said time and time again: ditch the soda. Stop drinking it. It’s either drinking a sugar-loaded can of Coca Cola (regular) or drinking a whole bunch of scary artificial sweeteners (diet or Coke Zero). Just…don’t.
But if you’re anything like me, you might want that “carbonation fix” once in awhile. Here are some fun options for sparkling water:
1) Perrier Sparkling Water. Perrier’s been making these adorable little cans in 10-packs for the East Coast lately, and I’m in love. Plus they remind me of being in Europe, where “water with gas” is the first thing offered in manny restaurants. Available flavors are lime, grapefruit, and original. I like the unflavored kind, call me gross:
2) La Croix Sparkling Water. La Croix has a bevy of flavorful options, ranging from coconut to passionfruit to orange and everything in-between. La Croix is sold in Target, Whole Foods, and plenty of other stores to choose from across the country.
3) Target Brand “Simply Balanced” Sparkling Water. While I’m a huge Perrier fan, the stuff can get expensive if it’s not on sale. Target’s brand has plenty of sparkling water options for half the price (and, quite often, a discount if you use your Target Cartwheel App.)
4) Skip the carbonation, keep some flavor.
There are some companies that sell water bottles which hold fruit slices in the center of the bottle, thus infusing the flavor into the water! Another option would be purchasing a SodaStream soda maker, but I’m not that committed to my soda. Ha ha!
Eliminating soda from your daily habits can make a huge impact on the results you see with your health and fitness. My advice? Throw away that pop today and get something that won’t push you away from a healthier future!
