Ah, it’s Labor Day weekend. As we approach the end of summer, I have to make note that it is very easy to eat healthy items right now because they are in season!
Here are some of my favorites that I am constantly eating:
-fresh green beans
We have received tomato after tomato recently as our friends’ and neighbors’ tomato crops have burgeoned. They can’t eat them fast enough, and so we are blessed enough to reap these benefits!
The moral of the story: While summer can be difficult to stay on track with your health goals (ie. Barbecues, etc.), healthy fruits and vegetables are more accessible. If you’re going to a Labor Day party this weekend, bring a bowl of fresh fruit salad. I mean fresh fruit salad. Buy the fruit, cut it up, and get creative with what you pick. You’d be surprised how quickly those things get eaten up at a festive holiday cookout.
