Ever since I began running regularly in October, I have had one main issue while running: I get stitches in my side almost every time. They are difficult to manage while maintaining pace, and I do my best to avoid walking to alleviate the pain. However, there are times in which they are so uncomfortable and painful that I must stop completely.
I recently found this article on Active.com about side stitches (and other unmentionable runners’ issues) and thought it would be note-worthy to post on the blog. If you ever had a stitch in your side while running, this may be the trick for you! I am going to watch my fluid intake pre-run and see if this helps.
Do you have an exercise goal for the next days, weeks, or months? Will you hit the ground running in 2013??
